Beginner Experience

August 24th – September 20th

Our Beginner Experience is a virtual 4-week guided journey to sew your first bra

We’ve set up an event so you can make your first bra alongside friends and experts. As a community, we will walk together one step at a time from August 24th – September 20th, 2024.

At the end of this journey you’ll know your measurements, the techniques for sewing with bra fabrics, the order for constructing a bra, and how to make basic fitting adjustments. Best of all, you’ll have sewn yourself a cute and comfy wireless Loftus or Jordy bralette! We know you can do this.

Meet your teacher, Sue Folts

I spend every day chirping with joy like a little cricket as I find beautiful fabrics, laces, elastics and tools for you. I am eager to give every budding bra builder the tools, materials and advice that I needed as I began my bra-making journey, and to support every bra builder as they create. I’m enough of an engineer to care very much that what you get works really well. I’m enough of an artist to care very much that it is beautiful. I’ve been working with fabrics and sewing for a very long time, so I choose the best that I can find.

FAQ

Here at Bra Builders, we hang our hat on three things, one of which is our colors. We are in love with color! Our favorite thing to do is develop beautiful colors for your underthings. Everything is hand-dyed, from our quality fabrics and elastics, to all of our findings and, of course, our gorgeous dye-to-match laces. As with any hand crafted product, there will be variations, which only adds to the charm!

We thought you’d never ask! (1) Quality Base Materials – We want you to have only the best base materials to work with, so we search the world over to bring them to you. (2) Excellent Customer Service – Our desire is for you to have a wonderful experience building lingerie, so we go the extra mile in Customer Service to make sure you have the support you need.

This question comes up a lot, especially because we do love to showcase our new kits with lingerie all made up using our kits. But the short answer to this is no, you won’t get a pattern. A kit will consist of everything listed in the product description for you to create your own amazing styles. If the product has a picture of something all made up from our beautiful materials we try to always reference the pattern that was used so you have that information. We sell several patterns on our Patterns and Notions page, and there are lots of other patterns out there you may want to use.
